The Brand

Our Story

Culaidh's founder, Anna, grew up with tartan.

I have always believed that the most powerful thing a woman can wear is something she doesn't have to think about. Not because it is unremarkable — but because it is so completely right.

I grew up in Scotland. Tartan was always there — not as costume, not as ceremony, but as cloth. Real cloth. Heavy, considered, woven with a precision that most fabrics never achieve. I knew what it was capable of. What I could not understand was why nobody had made it into something a woman could actually live in. Not occasion wear. Not heritage dress. A suit — cut with a modern silhouette, built to move through a life.

Culaidh began there.

The name is Scottish Gaelic for garment, pronounced KOO-lee. I chose it because it keeps us honest — it reminds us that the thing itself is the only thing that matters. Our tartan is woven at Lochcarron of Scotland. Every button, every label, every stitch is made in Great Britain. This is not a supply chain arranged for convenience. It is a commitment to making something genuinely, completely, uncompromisingly made here.

Culaidh is not made to be saved for best. It is made to be worn to the boardroom and the coffee date, the wedding and the moor — not because it is versatile, but because it is right. A woman who dresses with that kind of certainty does not need a different suit for every room she walks into. She needs one suit, made extraordinarily well.

Made to be worn, not kept. To move through every room, every hour, every version of your day.

This is Culaidh.

Considered. Enduring. Heritage.

Woven in Scotland. Made in Great Britain.
